Sixth Round: 15 Nonprofits Receive Grants

CANTON, Ohio (June 15, 2010) – The Aultman Foundation has announced 15 area nonprofit organizations will receive the organization’s sixth round of grant funding totaling $100,000. The grants are structured to help further The Aultman Foundation’s mission by funding local agencies’ projects and services in Stark, Wayne, Holmes, Carroll and Tuscarawas counties.
The following organizations – whose services focus on health, education and human services for the underserved, especially the poor, elderly and children – are receiving grants for the specified amount:
- Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter, Inc.: $6,000 for domestic abuse counseling program
- American Red Cross, Stark County Chapter: $4,100 for babysitting course scholarships
- Community Coalition Against Violence: $2,000 for a youth anti-violence and mentoring program
- Community Harvest of Stark County: $7,500 for expansion of food rescue program
- Community Legal Aid Services, Inc.: $7,000, for Family Wellness Clinics to help caregivers become legal custodians of dependent children
- Deos Destiny Designs: $7,000 for One Family at a Time life skills and mentoring program
- Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio fbo Access Health Stark Co.: $9,000 for coordinated network of health care delivery for underserved
- Lighthouse Visions, Inc.: $7,800, for health and wellness initiative for foster children and adults
- Mayor’s Literacy Commission: $3,500 for a family literacy program
- Multi-Development Services of Stark County: $10,000 for a childhood obesity and youth wellness education project
- Quota International of Massillon Charitable Trust: $11,100 for hearing aids for children in need
- Team Issachar, Inc.: $7,000, for Operation Fatherhood, a support network for young fathers
- Western Stark Free Clinic: $7,000, for expansion of comprehensive health care to underserved
- YMCA of Wooster: $5,000, for Kids in Therapy (KIT), summer camp for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- YMCA of Central Stark County (Meyers Lake Branch): $6,000, for Safety and Access Initiatives including pool access equipment
