Grants Distributed to 25 Non-Profits

The Aultman Foundation has announced 25 area nonprofit organizations will receive the organization’s second round of grant funding totaling $126,000 to help further the Aultman Foundation’s mission with their own services in Stark, Wayne, Holmes, Carroll and Tuscarawas counties.

  • ABLE Inc., $4,200, for S.U.N.N.Y., interactive online newspaper for youth by youth to increase awareness of health-care options for young people. 
  • American Red Cross Muskingum Lakes Chapter, $4,720, to expand Safe Sitter babysitting program to Tuscarawas County. 
  • Beacon Journal Charity Fund, $3,500, to provide orthodontic treatment to underserved children in Stark County. 
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of E. Central Ohio, $4,400, for expansion of school mentoring program to Tuscarawas, Carroll and Holmes counties. 
  • CSA Mercy Ministries dba Early Childhood Resource Center, $5,000, for Family Child Care Mentoring Project. 
  • Domestic Violence Project, $5,000, for Community Education Dating Violence Prevention Program for middle- and high-school students and teachers. 
  • FACES of Stark County, Inc., $5,000, for “What About Us?” pilot program to provide advocacy for residents with health issues. 
  • Faith in Action of Western Stark County, $6,000, for senior wellness outreach, including transportation, home visits and respite. 
  • First Mennonite dba Lighthouse Ministries, $7,000, for NASI (Neighborhood-Based After School Initiative) Healthy Snacks for 600 students. 
  • Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children, $10,000, for child care and intervention services for special needs children and children with autism spectrum disorder. 
  • GRIPP (Getting Restored Renewed Inside Permanently), $6,880, for Empowering Youth for the Future program to address mental and emotional needs of at risk youth. 
  • Hammer & Nails, $3,000 for Stark County residents with physical limitations to live independently. 
  • Northeast Community Center, $7,000, for Healthy Kids — Land and Water after-school program for elementary students promoting physical activity and nutrition. 
  • Phoenix Rising Behavioral Healthcare and Recovery, $7,000, for materials and training to begin treatment of children. 
  • Stark Social Worker’s Network, $10,000, for Respite Services Program, a preventive strategy for child abuse and neglect. 
  • Total Living Center Ministries Inc., $15,000, for lift device to make free medical services handicap accessible. 
  • Turning Point of Stark County, $3,300 for About Face Halt program to address needs of drug and alcohol addicted females reentering society. 
  • WATOES (We are Troubled on Every Side), $7,000, for senior outreach programming including wellness checkups, home visits and transportation services.
